THE CIPRIANI LEGACY
Cipriani’s story began when Giuseppe Cipriani Sr. opened Harry’s Bar in Venice in 1931. Warm and inviting, the small room was soon crowded with artists, aristocrats, and writers who came for the Bellinis and stayed for the conversation.

Giuseppe Cipriani Sr. was attuned to the tastes and whims of patrons and always found new ways to delight them. Attracting everyone from Ernest Hemingway to Katherine Hepburn, Harry’s Bar became famous for its charming atmosphere and discreet, anticipatory service. This unmatched hospitality — paired with style, authenticity, and a love of good food — are at the heart of the Cipriani brand.
THE ORIGINAL BELLINI
Inspired by the Venetian painter Giovanni Bellini, Giuseppe Cipriani Sr. created this now-iconic drink in 1948 by adding prosecco to a puree of his favorite white peaches. Unbeknownst to him, the Bellini would go on to become a beloved cocktail in elegant bars around the world.
CIPRIANI CARPACCIO
In 1950, Countess Amalia Nani Mocenigo was advised, for health reasons, to consume only raw meat. To accommodate her needs, Giuseppe Cipriani Sr. created a unique dish inspired by the paintings of Vittore Carpaccio, renowned for his distinctive use of red and white hues.
